Conflict of support and reality in the path of self-reliance
When I was in the ashram, raising financial support was never a challenge. One could easily earn Rs 10-15 thousand a day on an ordinary post. But the experience has taught us something else. When there was a need to get boring done to start farming on the land taken on lease in the village, I wrote posts several times for financial support. But help of more than four-five thousand rupees could never be collected.
Challenge of moving towards self-reliance
A full year passed, but he failed to raise the required funds for boring. If this arrangement was made, I could prepare a small garden for myself and there would be no need to write posts again and again for financial support.
This entire experience made me understand that most of my well-wishers themselves are not financially prosperous. And those who are able to, either my posts are not reaching them, or perhaps they have blocked me. The reason could be that I am no longer an ashram resident; I have become a free monk.
Society 's perspective and my struggle
Many people come to me to preach on self-reliance. But the same people helplessly serve those institutions and individuals who are looting the country. Their question is, “When you teach the lesson of self-reliance, why do you ask for it?”
But do n't the rest of the society
- Big industrialists take loans worth lakhs and crores from banks.
- Everyone tries to raise resources in some form or the other, be it job , business, or loan.
My situation is that neither the land nor the resources are mine. I have just taken a farm on lease so that I can make a small beginning of self-reliance. I believed that people who read me and understand my thoughts would support me in this journey. But mostly I got false assurances.
